I’m Irish, living in Switzerland, and before mesme I spent around 15 years working in corporate marketing — building brands, thinking about customers, creating experiences, and obsessing over all the little details that make something feel special.
I’ve always loved beauty. Not because I think women need perfect nails or perfect anything. But because small things can change how you feel.
For me, nails have always been one of those things. A little mood boost. A bit of colour. A small way to feel more put together, even when everything else in life feels chaotic.
When I lived in London, I had shellac manicures all the time. I loved how they looked, but over time my nails were completely wrecked.
Then I moved to Switzerland and realised something else had happened too. Without really noticing, I had started toning myself down. In London, I wore colour, patterns, bold coats — things that stood out. Somewhere along the way, my wardrobe had quietly become beige, black, navy and grey.
Nails became one tiny way of bringing some of that expression back.
Then I discovered wraps. And honestly, I fell in love with them. They felt lighter and more natural. I could change styles more easily. I could fix one quickly if needed. I didn’t feel trapped in one manicure anymore. And my nails actually started growing again.
But I also realised how confusing the category was. Some wraps felt cheap. Some were inconsistent. Some looked outdated. And it was hard to understand which type was right for which person.
So we started testing. A lot. Different materials. Different finishes. Different wear types. Different factories. Different samples.
We also listened properly. We ran focus groups, spoke to customers, tested ideas, and kept hearing the same thing: not everyone wants the same nails.
Some people love UV. Some completely avoid it. Some want subtle neutrals. Some want bold patterns. Some only wear nails at weekends. Some want the longest possible wear. Some care most about a gentler option.
So we created three different mesme wear types around those real needs — not one “perfect” way to do nails, but different options for different lifestyles, moods and routines.
From the beginning, I didn’t want mesme to feel like just another beauty product you buy online and then figure out alone. I wanted people to feel supported. To understand how wraps work. To enjoy trying them. To find the option that suits their life. And hopefully, to fall in love with them the way I did.
That’s why we created tutorials. That’s why we built the showroom. That’s why we care so much about customer support, fast delivery and events.
Because mesme was never meant to be just wraps.
It’s about making beauty feel easier, more flexible, more expressive and more fun.
Be fearless. Be mesme.
Not sure what they are, how they work, or which type is right for you?
We’ve explained it simply — what wraps are, how they’re made, and how to choose the mesme option that fits your life.
